We kicked off summer right by attending the Kenny Chesney concert last evening! I actually bought tickets the day they went on sale in early December, and somehow managed to keep them a secret until Christmas morning, when Joey recieved them in his stocking. We both love Kenny, but he was even MORE excited when he saw that one of the openers was Zac Brown Band!
Joey had to work at the bank yesterday morning, so I ran around and picked up ice, beers, and a styrofoam cooler as well as a healthy fast food lunch before I picked him up at 1pm. He got changed in the car (which was hysterical to watch) while we headed north to Arlington.
We met up with a huge group of people- some we knew, some we didn't- and boarded a party bus for the concert! But this wasn't just any old party bus....
Yep! They had rented a MASON bus! (For those that don't know, George Mason is where we went to college). We all boarded the bus with our coolers, beer, jello shooters, beer pong tables, power generator, speakers, WAY too much food, and a ton of cowboy hats and cowboy boots. About an hour (and a large detour) later, we were pulling into the parking lot at Fed Ex Field!

After a few hours of playing Flip Cup, shotgunning, snacking, obtaining party beads and USA tatoos, and jamming to some good old country music, it was time to go into the concert.
We decided to skip Uncle Kracker, but we got there in time to see Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band, and of course, Kenny Chesney. Here are a couple pics from our seats up in the nosebleed section.

So what else do we have planned for this summer? Here's a brief snapshot:
-Beach trip to the Jersey Shore! (ok, not THAT Jersey Shore...)
-Work trip to Seattle (...)
-Trip to Dallas, TX for my sister's wedding
