Life without Internet...

...sucks.  Last Tuesday we noticed the internet was not working.  Wednesday, when it was still not working, I called Verizon and some lady in India told me there was an outage in the area and they didn't know when it would be fixed.  Thursday we got a letter in the mail apologizing for the outage.  Friday night, there were some really bad storms in the area which knocked out power and cell service for miles around.  Yesterday, I called Verizon again and found out they are doing a "migration" and that they don't know when service will be restored.  So I called and was swindled into switched over to Fios, and the installation is scheduled for Saturday, any time between 8 am and 5 pm... (seriously!).

Why am I telling you this?  Cause that's where I've been.  My poor sister has been waiting patiently for beach pictures, I've not been able to go online and research my next Disney Vacation, or respond to emails because the touch-screen of my phone makes me go CRAZY when it spells everything wrong and I don't have the patience to deal with it.

So here's a quick recap of what's been going on in my life since we reverted to the dark ages of pre-internet.

1. We got a pool! YAY!  last Friday we set up this bad boy on the porch with the floaty pirate ship and a few brews.  We were set!

2. Boo! The storm came through and now our pool is closed until further notice....

Aftermath
3. Chloe has taken to barking at things that float in the pool.  She does not like floaty things.

Chlo vs. Pool
 4.  We inherited this beast from a neighbor who is moving.  Joey proudly brought it into the kitchen, my reaction to which was to point at the basement stairs and shake my head.

5. We've been working really hard on the house.  You may notice the ceiling fans and the lantern on the front porch that have replaced the nasty old lights.  My vision is slooowwlllyy coming together!

We've also been working hard on the basement. I bleached all the baseboards, painted 5 doors (only 3 to go!) and Joey cut all the new molding.  Next step is to tape off and paint allllll the molding, replace the bannister, and oh yeah... carpet the thing!

6.  I have a cold :( Not sure where it came from but it sucks.

Hope everybody has some patriotic plans for this week! Stay safe and I'll hopefully have internet sooooon!!!!

"Pupcicles"

My Dad asked for more Pin Pics.  So you can blame him for the following montage/poem.....

Summertime brings out our favorite treat.....
.......Chlo's tongue is so long, it can reach around to meet-

-Doc's on the other side.  They don't want to stop!

...with Chlo in the background, licking her chops.

We're almost done, at least for today,

So now we'll roll over, growl loudly, and play.

The end.

Jersey Shore Recap

Last weekend began with another dance performance.  Friday night was dress rehearsal, and Saturday was the show.  I got one picture from the entire thing, because Dawn and I (below) were in charge of getting each class from their dressing rooms to the on-deck and backstage positions.  This proved to be interesting given that many of the kids were in multiple classes and located in various dressing rooms.  We had a good time on our headsets playing "Secret Service"....

After the show, I went home and Joey and I briefly considered making the 4 hour trip to Stone Harbor that night.  But we decided to wake up suuuper early the next morning instead.  Why the rush?? We had family pictures scheduled for 11am!

Davis Family

We got a couple of just us :)

We look pretty good for waking up at 6 and driving 4 hours!

Next we were off to the bars! Duh!

Sisters

Me and Joey giving thumbs up, to what I don't remember...
After eating raw clams and drinking beers and singing along to the lame band (ok it was like 3pm)... we decided we were too good for the Windrift and needed something more exciting....

So off to Atlantic City we went!!!!!!!!!!!
Fiances fresh off the elevator.  Nice road soda.

It was Laura's first time in Atlantic City...
So she had to do the celebratory pig's rear end shot....

Having a  few more beverages before we hit the casino

This bar sells 40s. So awesome.
After a minor mishap with an ATM, where we ended up at the front desk of the Tropicana and I failed at getting us a suite for the night like in The Hangover, we headed up to the main floor of the Trop.  We played there, at Ballys and at Wild Wild West.  (The theming in that place is great. Yee haw!)

Another quick visit to the Boardwalk Empire sign...
The night was fun, but it had been a LONG DAY, starting at 6am for us.  So after a quick bite to eat, it was back to Stone Harbor for some SLEEP!
PIZZAAA

Sarah is tired.
The rest of the trip was filled with fun things like...

Fishing

Mini Golf

Beaching

Cornhole

More Mini Golf

More fishing

and lots of other things like spending time with family and close friends, eating good seafood, homemade ice cream, and shopping around town.

While the sun has set on this trip to Stone Harbor, we know we will be back for another trip soon!

Quick Round-Up

Hellooooo strangers! Long time no read, eh?? Life’s been a little busy around these parts.  Between my dance performance, a trip to the beach, and another weekend already upon us, I feel like I don’t have any time to put together a blog post before I’m off to the next activity!

Since I have no pictures readily available, I’m just going to jot down a few quick points that may (or may not) be of interest to you.

1. I have officially entered into 2012.  Like other bloggers before me, my old blackberry has been the victim of a cracked and bleeding screen for about 2 months.  I was dismayed to learn that my new-every-two wasn’t up until November, however a friend of my Mom’s won a brand new Droid at a raffle and was willing to sell it to me for half price! Score!  So now I’m the proud owner of a Droid Razr.  The transition from blackberry to smart phone has been very interesting thus far.  I’ve downloaded a bunch of apps and spelled a lot of things wrong while trying to type on the touch-screen.  The most exciting thing, for me, is that I can finally have Instagram! Which means more Pin Pics for you! YAY!

2. Birthday Party Planning:  I owe an entire post on this, I realize.  The house is slowly filling up with Civil War memorabilia.  The mailbox is chock full each day of pamphlets and booklets about local Civil War sites.  Robert E. Lee is in my dining room.  Get excited for the great battle to come…

3. Take your Dog to Work Day: …Is today.   I’m not participating L Breaks my heart.

4. Chicken Cordon-Bleu.  Watching Rachel Ray while at the beach, Joey decided he was going to make it.  And he did a great job! It didn't look like Rachel's.... but it sure tasted good! I was super impressed.

5. Running: I know I said I wouldn’t. I just wanted to notify you that we are scheduled for a 5 mile run this weekend. This will be Joey’s official longest run ever.  His previous long was 4.97, which is an 8K.  Makin big moves!!

6. Other fun weekend plans: Top Golf tonight with some close friends, then teaching a technique class to a high school dance team tomorrow AM.  Then spending the weekend avoiding the inevitable yard work that NEEDS to be done.

Hope everybody stays cool this weekend.  Remember to drink a ton of water and keep an eye on your pets!

A Dream is a Wish, your Heart makes...

When you’re fast asleep.

In dreams you will lose your heartaches,

Whatever you wish for, you keep.

Have faith in your dreams and someday,

Your rainbow will come smiling through.

No matter how your heart is grieving,

If you keep on believing,

The dream that you wish, will come true!

B- Day!

If you recall, the first item on the list of Summer Happenings is that our Goddaughter, Brooklyn, turned one year old this week!

I made the trip up to PA for the day Saturday to celebrate with her family.  Joey was working Saturday morning and unable to come with :( BOO.

Brookyln's Mom, Steph, and I go way back to high school where we became close friends.  Here we are on a beach trip, blowing bubbles on the roof.

Then, a few years later, Steph met a wonderful man named Ryan and they got married.

A couple years after that, Brooklyn was born! And here we are, celebrating her first birthday! She is truly loved.

What a precious little girl!

A beautiful family, both inside and out! (I'm gonna hold off on comments about that hat!)

Ummm not so sure about this...

The aftermath!
It was a quick trip, but I also got the chance to visit my brother and his fiancee (aahh!).  They have the cuuutest little apartment and we had a great time visiting and drinking wine and eating popcorn.... ;)

Hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!
